Sunbed Wars

****NO SUNBEDS OR NATIVES WERE HARMED IN THE WRITING OF THIS NARRATIVE****
READ THIS IN YOUR BEST DAVID ATTENBOROUGH VOICE

As the sun rises, the age old daily ritual of “agitur de petitione mea” begins.
Slowly at first, the natives sleepily appear and saunter towards their chosen spot, taking in the view and feeling the warmth of the early morning sun on their face.
They greet other natives as a matter of courtesy but they now have their eye on the prize – the bottom right hand corner
All of a sudden, in the distance, they spot an aggressor, making their way to the very same place and the urgency intensifies. who will it be on this day of days?
Nonchalantly at first, the pace of the native quickens but the aggressor makes a break for it and the race is on.
Zigging and Zagging in and out of the other natives, like a child trying to catch a chicken, they both converge on the exact same spot …. who will it be?
They arrive at the same time and the war of words begin ……
“This is my space – i had it yesterday”
“Well if you had it yesterday it must be someone elses turn today!”
This confrontation continues until it reaches fever pitch between the native and the aggressor …. meanwhile the sneaky snake takes advantage of the commontion and gently lays his towels on the beds whilst distracting the combatants with his slieght of hand.
The combatants are flabbergasted … how could this happen … to THEM of all people … the strong, the brave …. but happen it did and both combatants slope off to fight another day and to find another spot.
